Al Hisn (Sharjah Fort) - Arms Room
Built in 1820, this fort is a superb example of traditional architecture, formerly home to the ruling Al Qasimi family and restored in the mid 1990s. Contained within its solid walls, this imposing stronghold was once the dominant building alongside the creek. Today the fort houses priceless artefacts, intriguing photographs from the past, old weapons including guns, swords, daggers and shields, and trading tools tracing 200 years of the emirate’s history.
The museum is currently closed for renovation but can be admired externally.
