University City Hall

Located on the western side the of University City complex, University City Hall was built as a part of the impressive civic development to provide researchers, pioneers and scholars with the information they require.

With a seating capacity for 1,799 people and a total area of 4,100 sq. metres, the hall has the capacity to absorb the ever increasing number of scientific and cultural activities held at the University City, for the benefit of the population at large.

It is set within an area of 170,000 sq. metres with an extensive car parking facility for 1,200 cars.

Its stately architecture is a tribute to the true spirit of Islamic design. The 26 metre high hall is topped with a fine dome, 50 metres in diameter and 13 meter height, and circled by areas patterned with marble tiles. The hall is built over five floors with a basement; the first floor has a splendid stage and seating for 878 people plus VIP majlis and eight private terraces; the second floor comprises a fully equipped conference hall that seats 60 people around a magnificent round table plus VIP majlis; the third floor contains the upper terraces with seating for 425 and access via hanging bridges.

The building is equipped with several advanced facilities, which includes state-of-the-art technology for lighting, music, sound, translation, show screens, etc. All these facilities are fully computerized. Four elevators were installed in this hall plus two electric ones.
